Who We Are

Built by a Veteran,
for Veterans.

McBride Pathways for Veterans was founded by a United States Veteran who knows firsthand what it means to navigate life after service | and what it looks like when a fellow Veteran is struggling in silence.

We are a Cincinnati-based nonprofit serving Veterans across Hamilton, Butler, and Warren Counties who are not connected to VA care | the population most at risk for suicide. We don't wait for Veterans to come to us. We go where they are.

Our founder currently supports five Veterans who experienced housing displacement, providing direct, wrap-around care before any grant or program existed. McBride Pathways for Veterans is that commitment, scaled.

McBride Pathways for Veterans is pursuing funding through the VA Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program and is building coordination with the Cincinnati VA Medical Center, Hamilton County Veterans Service Commission, and local Veteran post organizations.

"The Veterans most at risk are the ones who aren't asking for help. We go find them."

What We Do

Comprehensive support,
start to finish.

Every service we provide is designed to meet Veterans where they are | not where the system expects them to be. All services are free and confidential.

01

Community Outreach

We actively find Veterans who are not connected to VA care | at VFW and American Legion posts, shelters, courts, churches, and community gathering spots across Hamilton, Butler, and Warren Counties.

02

Mental Health Screening

All enrolled Veterans receive a baseline mental health screening using the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS) to assess risk and guide service planning.

03

Peer Support

Veteran-to-Veteran peer support from staff with lived military experience. One-on-one sessions, group engagement, and ongoing connection to reduce isolation and build trust.

04

Case Management

Dedicated case managers develop individualized service plans and coordinate referrals to clinical, housing, financial, and community resources | ensuring no Veteran falls through the cracks.

05

VA Benefits Enrollment

We walk Veterans through VA health care enrollment, disability compensation claims, housing assistance, and education benefits | step by step, at no cost.

06

Care Coordination

Warm handoffs to the Cincinnati VAMC, Vet Center, Hamilton County ADAMHS, and crisis services. We make the connection | we don't just hand out phone numbers.
